Alex + Ethan's Green Mountain Engagements

When I found this location we used for Alex + Ethan's engagements, it reminded me of New Zealand or Iceland! Although it's located in Utah, the location was so green and unique for a Utah landscape, I just had to shoot there! Utah landscapes tend to be more yellow down in the valleys, and I know the grass at this location will turn yellow once summer hits, so I'm glad we got to shoot here during the spring! I loved Alex's dress choices and how simple yet elegant she kept things.

Alyssa + Nathan's Utah/Arizona Desert Engagements

Earlier this year, I took a trip to the St. George/Arizona desert to shoot this lovely couple's engagements. Alyssa is originally from Arizona and the desert seemed like the perfect spot to connect with her roots and shoot these engagements. It was also great for me to take a break from the winter weather and remember warmth. I love shooting with cactus plants! We crossed the St. George/Arizona border to get some of these lovely cactus plants in the shots!

Kaleigh + Christopher's Utah Cherry Blossom Engagements

So excited to have shot this gorgeous couple's engagements this spring with the cherry blossoms. Every year when the cherry blossoms hit SLC, all I can think about is how stunning they are and when I'm going to shoot with them! I am so happy it worked out that we were able to shoot this sweet couple's engagements with the cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms don't last long in Utah and you have to get them when you can!

I shot this wedding last summer in Rochester, New York. When the lovely actress, Gloria Votsis (as seen in White Collar, Killer Movie, and The Education of Charlie Banks to name a few) contacted me regarding her intimate backyard wedding, I could tell by her love of dinner parties and event decor that the event would be perfect. She let me know they decided not to hold the wedding in LA because they wanted to go for more of a home-grown, backyard feel. The wedding consisted of only close friends and her big greek family. I loved that they included traditions like breaking the bread and greek line dancing at the wedding. All the details were sweet, intimate, and close to Gloria's heart.

Spring in Utah Sneak Peek

As we approach spring, things are starting to change! We see budding trees and golden sunlight coming through. One of my favorite things about engagements in Utah is that we have such a huge variety of landscapes to choose from. I can't wait for my upcoming spring photo shoots! I had so much fun shooting the below images in an random tunnel. Who would have thought a tunnel would be a great spot for engagements in Utah? So random, but so beautiful.

This is the first wedding I have ever shot at Snowbasin Resort and I had no idea how incredibly stunning Needles Lodge would be! The beautiful, large windows really brought in plenty of light so that everything photographed extremely well. I loved the dramatic chandeliers mixed with log details that gave the space a luxurious cabin feel. One detail I loved was that the bride made her jewelry and bridesmaid jewelry herself out of gemstones. I have been so obsessed with gemstone jewelry and details lately for weddings and I love the natural feel it gave to the wedding and how well it tied in with Snowbasin Resort's scenery. Paris' off-the-shoulder wedding dress from The Bride's Shop was so unique and classic. The bride's makeup by Lesley Lind was absolutely flawless, and I would expect nothing less! This wedding was shot early fall and I love how the bridesmaid dresses in shades of purple from David's Bridal fit in with the time of year. Snowbasin Resort provided the cake, topped with flowers from Lilac Floral. And can you believe how lucky Paris is to have that gorgeous, flawless lights kin, dark hair, and GREEN eyes? She's stunning.

Hannah + Bryce Bridals (Rowley Dugway, Utah)

I had SO much fun photographing this beautiful LDS Bride and her fiance. Modest wedding dresses are so hard to find, and I can't believe how amazing Hannah's temple dress turned out! Utah is such an amazing place for photos because there is such a vast variety of options for us. I love utilizing locations west of Salt Lake City for a nice variety. These were taken near Rowley Dugway.

Utah Valley Bride Spread

Floral: Lizy Bowden

Venue: Springville Art Museum

Models: Michelle White, Lara Kei, Kenzie Andelin

I had so much fun shooting this amazing editorial with Utah Valley Bride Magazine. I am so honored to have been involved with all of these amazing Utah wedding vendors. Utah Valley Bride has been such a huge supporter of mine over the past few years and I absolutely LOVE every issue they put out. These images were shot at the Springville Art Museum, which is an amazing Utah event center. I love that Utah Valley Bride magazine included LDS temple ready dresses, as well as non-LDS dresses to give a nice variety. All of these wedding dresses were absolutely perfect and I just could NOT get enough!

Laura + Austin Wedding (Newport Beach, California)

These stunning images were shot at the Newport Beach LDS Temple and Victoria Beach in California. Laura's lace, modest wedding dress was absolutely stunning. I love when LDS brides are unique and think outside the box with their modest gowns and use unique sleeve styles. Laura suggested Victoria Beach to me for her bridal location because she grew up going there with her family! I love that she chose a bridal location that was close to her heart. We had so much fun shooting with the tide pools and avoiding being soaked by the waves.  And the Newport Beach LDS Temple is really a classic.

The dark blue bridesmaid dresses were so dramatic and stunning, and I loved that they tied in with the dark blues of the ocean at Victoria Beach.

Excerpts from I Sing the Body Electric by Walt Whitman

I believe the likes of you are to stand or fall with the likes of the soul, (and that they are the soul,)

O my body! I dare not desert the likes of you in other men and women, nor the likes of the parts of you,

I believe the likes of you are to stand or fall with the likes of the soul, (and that they are the soul,)

Womanhood, and all that is a woman, and the man that comes from woman,

The womb, the teats, nipples, breast-milk, tears, laughter, weeping, love-looks, love-perturbations and risings,

The voice, articulation, language, whispering, shouting aloud,

Food, drink, pulse, digestion, sweat, sleep, walking, swimming,

Poise on the hips, leaping, reclining, embracing, arm-curving and tightening,

The continual changes of the flex of the mouth, and around the eyes,

The continual changes of the flex of the mouth, and around the eyes,

The skin, the sunburnt shade, freckles, hair,

The curious sympathy one feels when feeling with the hand the naked meat of the body,

The circling rivers the breath, and breathing it in and out,

The beauty of the waist, and thence of the hips, and thence downward toward the knees,

The thin red jellies within you or within me, the bones and the marrow in the bones,

The exquisite realization of health;

O I say these are not the parts and poems of the body only, but of the soul,

O I say now these are the soul!
