How did you two meet?: Hinge - we had our first date at the Fireside in Portland on a beautiful late summer evening.
What venue did you choose, and why?: We knew we wanted a micro wedding with just our immediate families on the coast, which is sentimental for both of us. When we found this house online, we immediately fell in love with the big windows, the view, and the modern design.
What were your favorite style details from the wedding, and why did you choose them?: We didn't want to steal from the view and the house, so styling was minimal. My favorite detail was our florals. We chose Chas for her design style, the installation looked like it could have been part of the landscape and she completely nailed our vision.
What were each of your favorite moments from the day?: We both had the same favorite moment - our first look and getting to read our personal vows to each other.
Anna & Peter’s Beachside Elopement in Arch Cape, Oregon
As a photographer, I get to work with couples in all kinds of locations, but Anna and Peter’s elopement in Arch Cape, Oregon had a calm, understated beauty that stood out. Tucked between the busier coastal towns of Cannon Beach and Manzanita, Arch Cape offers a quieter stretch of coastline—exactly what these two were looking for.
The weather that morning was unexpectedly clear. Coastal Oregon can be unpredictable, often overcast or misty, but Anna and Peter had sunshine from start to finish. The soft, even light made for great natural portraits and allowed us to shoot without rushing.
The ceremony took place on the sand just steps from the modern vacation rental where they were staying. Chaz from Wildflower Portland created a gorgeous install in soft yellows that brought warmth to the setting without overwhelming it. The flowers had a slightly wild, just-picked feel that worked beautifully against the coastal backdrop.
The setup was simple: grounded florals, no arch, and the Pacific just behind them. It felt intentional and reflective of who they are—easygoing, but thoughtful.
The rental itself had a clean, modern design with coastal touches—wood accents, large windows, and abstract ocean-inspired art throughout the space. It was spacious without feeling too polished, and the natural light indoors made it easy to capture getting-ready moments without extra lighting.
Anna wore a chic gown by Milla Nova—modern, minimal, and elegant without trying too hard. Her style matched the mood of the day: simple, confident, and grounded. Peter kept things classic, and together they struck a balance between dressed-up and relaxed.
If you’re looking for a place that feels private but still offers easy access to beautiful landscapes, Arch Cape, Oregon is worth considering. It doesn’t draw the same crowds as nearby beaches, and there are plenty of well-designed vacation rentals that work well for small weddings or elopements.
