Hayley‑Ann and Jackson’s fall wedding weekend at Sols Cliff House in Bar Harbor, Maine was one of those really special weddings that you never forget. Located on private acreage overlooking Frenchman Bay, Sols Cliff House is one of the last surviving summer “cottages” from Bar Harbor’s gilded era, built in 1914 and designed by Boston architect George Shepard for novelist Arthur Train — a piece of history that defines the coastline.
The couple’s weekend began on day one with getting ready photos at Sols Cliff House. The house itself is full of vintage features — large ground‑floor rooms with double doors, French doors that open onto a long terrace facing the ocean, and interiors filled with antiques and character — all of which made for beautiful, unique getting‑ready portraits. After their first look on the cliffs overlooking the water, we headed into Acadia National Park for hiking and portraits. The overlooks with ocean views and rugged Maine landscape made for some truly insane backgrounds. I still remember the fall smell as we hiked around, and the way it felt to reach each viewpoint.
Day two was their ceremony day. Hayley‑Ann and Jackson got ready again at Sols Cliff House, while their friends and family got ready in their own rooms. It rained that afternoon, but these two took it in stride — embracing the rain and letting it add all of the drama and coziness to the ambiance. One of the most memorable moments was their first dance in the rain. Because they met while dancing for the same company, their first dance felt so special — graceful, connected, and completely in their element.
Dinner that evening was intimate and unforgettable. The food — including local lobster and beautifully prepared courses — was a highlight, served in Sols Cliff House’s classic dining room with French doors and vintage charm that made the whole space feel like a dinner party among close friends. Their guests were so cozy and content, enjoying the views, the food, and slowing down to take in how special it was to be there amongst each other.
Hayley-Ann + Jackson’s wedding weekend at Sols Cliff House in Bar Harbor, Maine wasn’t just a beautiful event — it was a combination of historic setting, incredibly thoughtful and intentional moments. Between the old‑world features of the venue, the incredible ocean views, and the way Hayley‑Ann and Jackson embraced every part of their weekend, it was a celebration that perfectly matched who they are and how they love.
