Best Oregon Coast Elopement + Wedding Photo spots

My Absolute Favorite Oregon Coast Locations

After relocating to Portland in December of 2017, I became obsessed with the Oregon Coast! As a wedding photographer, there’s nothing more you could want from a photoshoot location! These are my top 5 photo shoot locations on the Oregon Coast… ready?

#1. Cape Kiwanda

For those of you who know my work, you’ve probably seen quite a few shoots of mine at Cape Kiwanda. What I love about shooting here is that you can really get a great variety of images. There is orange sandstone, there are caves, there is a haystack-like rock, and there is ocean. What more could you want?

#2. Haystack Rock / Cannon Beach

As seen in Goonies. This may be the most famous location on the Oregon Coast, and for a good reason. Haystack rock is massive. At low tide, you can actually get pretty close to it. People often worry about the popularity of this location because they don’t want tourists in their photos. But because the rocks are so big, there is always an area you can use that won’t have tourists, trust me.

#3. Oceanside Beach

Caves. So many caves. This one is really special to me because I have a sweet spot for caves. Also, the rocks in the distance here are more jagged, creating a mediterranean feel. The rock surfaces are very useable for photos as well because they have such a unique color/texture. Just keep in mind that you’ll have to walk through a cave to get to the good stuff.

#4. Hug Point

This spot is not far from Haystack Rock/Cannon Beach and is also very unique. There are some caves and also some really dramatic trees. I love this location for switching things up.

#5. God’s Thumb / Lincoln City

Just a heads up.. God’s Thumb requires a short but steep hike. I only recommend doing this if you plan to get a little dirty and to get a workout. After God’s Thumb, we walked down to the beach and took some more photos there. This spot has a long coastline and almost a SoCal feel.
