Made home-made egg nog the other day and decided to document. Enjoy! (Recipe at bottom)
2 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon vanilla extract or 1 vanilla bean
Nugmet to taste
Mix the eggs, sugar, and salt with a whisk in large saucepan. Whisk while you pour the milk in slowly. Put on stove and turn the stove on as low as possible. Stir nonstop for 30 minutes until thick. Strain it to remove any cooked egg. Add vanilla and nutmeg. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. May add cinnamon.
For spiked egg nog, add anywhere from a half cup to 2 cups of whiskey or rum.
